Phyllis Coates – 91
The Lois Lane to Superman, Phyllis Coates was the woman every girl wanted to be in the 50’s. She had her start in the industry as a comedian and dancer in skits until her life changed when she landed her defining role in 1951 on the classic TV series ‘The Adventures of Superman’. Her performance made her a household name in the industry for a brief amount of time. She of course reprised her role in movie ‘Superman and the Mole Man’. Coates has a daughter with jazz pianist Robert Nelms, her second husband, and a son with director Norman Tokar, her third husband, and finally another daughter with her fourth husband, Dr. Howard Press.
