Sophia Loren was an ideal example of an Italian woman in the 1950s. The Italian actress/singer was influenced to attend acting classes after entering a beauty pageant. In 1956, at the age of 15, her acting career had already started with a five-movie contract with Paramount.
Sophia didn’t catch a lot of eyes until she landed a role as Cesira in Two Women which earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress. Some of her noteworthy work was in movies like Houseboat and The Countless. Other than earning Awards for her acting, she also won a Grammy Award, 5 special Golden Globes, a Laurel Award, and other multiple awards.
