Cassandra Peterson – Elvira Mistress of the Dark, born 1951

Cassandra Peterson started out as a little Las Vegas showgirl at the tender age of 17, but success was waiting for her just around the corner! After a conversation with Elvis Presley one evening, she Peterson decided to give him advice to channel her acting and singing talents to Europe. Peterson then moved to Hollywood, where she was born the character of Elvira after making a few films. Elvira has become a sensation with moviegoers across the country, and Peterson has capitalized on her recent success by making films like Elvira Mistress of the Dark and Elvira’s Haunted Hills. She has also donated large sums from her films to HIV/AIDS organizations and animal charities.
