Aaron Ekblad – Fort Lauderdale – $6.5 million
Ekbald joined the Ontario Hockey league as a first overall draft during the 2011 entry draft. He currently serves as an alternate captain and ice hockey defenseman for the Florida Panthers. After signing an 8-year contract worth $60 million with the Florida Panthers, Ekbald’s bank account allowed him to splurge on a $5.7-million Fort Lauderdale property. The 7,500-square-foot home rests along 440 San Marco Drive and its previous owner bought it for $1.4 million in 2015. Ekbald eventually let go of the property asking for $6.7 million but later reduced the listing price to $6.5 million. It includes an atrium, a water frontage, a spa, and a pool.
