Steve Yzerman – Tampa Bay – $3 million
Steve Yzerman spent his entire NHL career with the Detroit Red Wings and he’s also a Hockey Hall of Famer. After retiring in 2006, Yzerman took up a front office role with the Red Wings and later a Tampa Bay Lightning general manager position. In 2017, Yzerman convinced Dan Girardi to sign a $6-million 2-year contract with the New York Rangers, which had him set up in terms of retirement planning. However, Girardi dropped $3 million of it by buying Yzerman’s Tampa Bay home. Yzerman gave Giadi a great deal on the 6,265-square-foot four-bedroom mansion that he had previously listed for $3.595 million.
