Jasper Carrott – 78 Years
Jasper Carrott has a masterful way of carrying the audience along with him. Yet, before the English veteran ranked up amongst Channel 4’s “Top 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians,” he took the stage first as a folk singer in a club he managed called the ‘The Boggery.’
Jasper’s hilarious banter overshadowed his earlier career plans. His reputation as a funny man quickly expanded, leading him to tour widely and record the self-funded album, ‘Jasper Carrott— In the Club.’ That triumph was followed by other ventures, including the published paperback “A little Zit on the Side” and television gigs such as ‘Carrott’s Lib’ in 1982. In 2008, the Birmingham native received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his decade’s contribution to comedy.
