Vin Scully – $12.4 Million, Los Angeles
America’s legendary baseball sportscaster Vin Scully passed away peacefully at his Hidden Hills home in the first week of August 2022. In an illustrious career spanning seven decades, his voice calling games for ‘Los Angeles Dodgers’ since 1950 became a staple of the city. It was a sad day for all his fans from around the world.
Until his retirement in 2016, Vin enjoyed the long commute between his 2-acre property in the gated community in San Fernando Valley to the announcer’s booth at the Dodgers stadium. He had bought the 11,000-square feet sprawling mansion in 2009, paying $12.4 million. His home boasts a large swimming pool, a spa, and a full-sized tennis court.
Raymond Briggs – Sussex
Raymond Briggs, the famous illustrator, lived in the same house in Sussex for more than 50 years until his death on August 9th, 2022. The cottage is set up in East Sussex, a short distance away from the historic town of Lewes. However, his love of clutter and lack of light prompted him to separate his residence from that of his partner and children, who lived on the same property.
A lot of critics believe that the amazing views from the windows are where Briggs got ideas for his fascinating illustrations. He lived in this house till his demise, and many fans arrived at the property to pay tribute to the beloved artist.
Steve McManaman – $8 Million, Mallorca
It was a sad day in April 2022 when Steve McManaman and his wife Victoria walked out of their family home in Son Vida, Mallorca, for the last time. Even though they put the $8 million house up for sale twice over the last decade and were prepared to move out, the reality of saying goodbye to precious memories of the place broke their heart.
Having constructed the gorgeous mansion in the early 2000s, the former footballer had proposed to Victoria on the terrace and, together as a married couple, had raised their kids there. Disturbed by the years of being surrounded by heavy construction destroying the peace of Mallorca, they made the painful decision to move away.
