Elvis’s Tragic Death
By the time of his death, Elvis was quickly deteriorating due to a number of ailments, from glaucoma to high blood pressure to liver damage. His body was suffering from the effects of his abuse of pills and hectic lifestyle. Nonetheless, he was about to start another tour.
On August 16, 1977, Elvis’s girlfriend, Ginger Alden, found him lying on the bathroom floor. He was unresponsive, and there was nothing physicians could do to revive him. The King had died of heart failure. Over 80,000 people were present when his body was brought to Forest Hill Cemetery.
