She was first spotted by a talent manager after appearing in a play at UCLA, and was casted in a movie in 1942. She then landed roles in classics such as ‘Crossfire’ and ‘The Narrow Margin’ which skyrocketed her to global fame. When she announced that she would retire in 1952, it shocked the industry and fans alike. However, she cited that her reason for retiring was to focus on her personal life, which includes 5 children.
