William Shatner – 89
William Shatner is a genuine mainstay of the entertainment industry. After a 7 decade and still ongoing career, Shatner is best-known as Captain James T Kirk in the acclaimed ‘Star Trek’. Shatner fell into the typecasting conundrum, and found it hard to land roles, even coming close to bankruptcy. However, he managed to recover and is now worth $100 million. Nowadays Shatner can be seen writing books and enjoying his twilight years with his fourth wife. He also recorded audiobooks, and has read three books on audio in the years 2008, 2011 and 2016. In 2017, Shatner was appointed to the Order of Canada by the Governor, General Julie Payette.
Nancy Olson – 92
Those of you who’ve watched ‘Sunset Boulevard’ may remember Nancy Olson and her bewitching smile. Today, the now retired actress reminisces about her younger days in the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. The aforementioned film also granted her an Academy Award nomination! Olson also appeared in Disney’s ‘Absent-Minded Professor’, which co-starred William Holden, one of her many notable collaborators. Olson is mostly retired form her acting career these days – in fact, she has been in semi-retirement since the early 1980s, with a couple of rare returns, like the one in 2014.
Goldie Hawn – Now 76
Widely considered among the greatest performers of all time, Goldie Hawn is an acclaimed actress whose mark in Hollywood cannot be overlooked. With her talent transcending several generations, the star has been a fans’ favorite since her maiden television appearance in 1966, with her performance on ‘Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In’ propelling her to fame.
While some people retire after spending five decades working, Hawn is quite different. She might be in her seventies, but the singer is still actively involved in showbiz, taking up blockbuster roles as often as she can. They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and the dancer seems to have passed down the creative genes to her three children, who are all actors.
