Before the late Steve Irwin, being a crocodile dundee was Paul Hogan thing. In 1986, Paul Hogan starred in a smash hit comedy Oscar nominated movie called Crocodile Dundee. The movie was so good that it had two sequels. Paul, an Australian, first appeared in television in 1971 on Nine Network’s amateur talent program. Although Paul has no longer active in the showbiz, he has been rewarded or honors. Paul was named Australian of the Year in 1985, appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia for service to tourism and entertainment, won Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in Musical or Comedy for Crocodile Dundee in 1987 and lastly, Paul received the highest honour of Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Art, the Longford Lyell Award for his outstanding services to the Australian screen in 2016.
