James Brown’s Daughter – Yamma Noyola Brown Lumar
The Godfather of Soul, the late musician James Brown had 9 children officially but some reports indicate the actual number could be up to 13. One of his children is Yamma Noyola Brown Lumar, from his second marriage to Deidre Jenkins. Brown and Jenkins got married in 1970 and separated in 1979 after years of domestic violence, according to Yamma and her sister. They got a divorce in 1981. In her memoir, Yamma wrote about growing up in fear of her father and how her unhappy childhood affected her marriage later. She was married to an investment banker for 10 years.
