Ray Anthony – Now 100
It looks like Ray Anthony had music in his veins since birth, as he knew pretty early in life that he wanted to become a musician. He was five when he started learning to play the trumpet. In 1940, the talented teen joined the famous swing dance band ‘Glenn Miller Orchestra’ for a year or two before joining the navy, where he spent his spare time writing music.
In the early ’50s, Ray formed his band ‘Ray Anthony Orchestra,’ taking it to great heights with hits like ‘The Bunny Hop’ and ‘At Last.’ Over the years, he has also acted in films and television. Age is not a deterrent; he still produces foot-tapping music as a bandleader.
