Looks Can Be Deceiving

It’s hard to fault her in this situation—who wouldn’t be tempted by that adorable, smooth creature that appeared so harmless? Plus, it’s practically begging to be photographed. But on closer inspection, when you realize what it actually is, all you can do is hope she didn’t end up in the ER and that everything turned out okay. This is one of those pink, slimy jellyfish that sometimes wash up on beaches. While they might seem completely harmless at first glance, and not every jellyfish is deadly, the safest bet is always to steer clear. Their stings can range in severity, but it’s better to err on the side of caution!
