Barbara Knox – 89 Years Old

Barbara Knox has been a staple of the Coronation Street soap opera since 1972, having appeared in over 3,130 episodes as Rita Tanner. Born in Oldham in 1933, she is now 89 years old. Knox has been married twice, first to Denis Mullaney with whom she had three children and later to John Knox until their separation in 1994. It is safe to say that without her presence, the show would not have lasted as long as it has.
