Hugh Downs is a modern renaissance man, possessing a wealth of talents in many industries. He has spent many decades as the face of ABC’s ’20/20 news’, and also dabbled in acting and writing. Now retired from anchoring the show, his lucrative deals and undertakings over the years guarantees a life of comfort. Downs earned his gerontology postgraduate degree through Hunter College while he was the host of PBS TV show Over Easy, which aired between 1977 and 1983. He was credited by Guinness Book of World Records in 1985 for holding the most hours on network commercial TV – 15,188 hours!
